Nick Krautter joins us today on the Wright Brothers Podcast to talk about his expertise in gaining referral business from retiring or relocating agents.
Nick talks about his experience and strategies in depth in his book, The Golden Handoff, and on its accompanying website.
In a nutshell, the Golden Handoff refers to the practice by an established agent of partnering with another agent who is either getting ready to retire or relocate to a different area. The retiring or relocating agent will agree to work with the newer agent in his or her final days. These two agents will typically come to some sort of agreement where the retiring agent will grant access to all of their client information via database and actually endorse the new agent.
The new agent then takes the time to check in, either through letters or phone calls or both, with all of these clients to see if they need anything in hopes of generating a good amount of referral business.
Nick talks about his but the specific language that goes into this type of agreement, and he reveals the specific scripts that he uses to talk with clients about the transition.
He also talks about the tools he recommends to real estate agents for keeping their business systems running smoothly overall.
