It has been a couple of months since we shared our adventures in “Thankful Thursday-ing”, which this month was swapped with Thankful Tuesday. This week we ventured over to one of our new favorite places to visit, The Advantage Center.
The Advantage Center is an adult day care for Developmentally Disabled in the heart of La Mesa. This was our second visit to their facility and by far our favorite. Last month we were able to swing by with some of our favorite pups and join in on their Halloween party for a little pet therapy. While we were there, we met so many incredible individuals that we knew we had to come back. Cut to November, where we planned the ultimate craft party (thanks, Pinterest!) for our new friends. We brought a myriad of art supplies and rolled up our sleeves and got crafty. Check out their amazing Thanksgiving-inspired crafts below!
We had about 12 people join us for the craft party, with a wide range of communication and physical abilities. It was so much fun to see how they put their own artistic spin on each of the projects.
This is Dorothy. She has a cat named Oreo and threatened to tell Santa I was on the naughty list if I tried to take her crafts home with me.
Our pals Stanley and Eema were all smiles the whole time.
Thanks again to our friends at The Advantage Center for such a great day. We can’t wait to see you again soon!
Happy Thanksgiving!
