The most important and most thrilling part of my job is recruiting and hiring new team members. This week, we begin the search for a new full-time programmer. It’s magical (and a bit daunting) to consider that out of the seven billion people on this planet, just one will fill this position and make an immeasurable impact in the lives of everyone who works here and every client we have the privilege to serve.
As we begin this journey, I’d like to invite you to be a part of our search. If you are reading this post, it’s likely because we are connected in some way. First, a little background on the technical requirements for this position. 3+ years experience in each of the following:
– Front-end development (HTML/JavaScript/CSS required)
– Front-end frameworks (jQuery/AngularJS preferred)
– Back-end development (PHP preferred)
– Back-end frameworks (CodeIgniter preferred)
– Database development (MySQL preferred)
– Web server configuration (Apache preferred)
Beyond that, we’re looking for the right cultural fit—someone who finds the process of collaborative problem solving and product creation/refinement fascinating and inspiring. We’re looking for someone who has a personal standard of excellence—that takes personal pride in elegant, well-commented, bug-free code. Above all, we’re looking for someone that is a giver—that understands the only way to get what you want out of life is to help enough people in life get what they want…someone that laughs often, forgives easily, and sees the best in other people.
